Nomura Charity Concert to Help Build Elementary School in Laos

In collaboration with the Pacific Music Festival, an international educational music festival held each summer in Japan, Nomura presented a charity concert in Tokyo on August 5 attended by 1,100 people.

The charity concert was held to help build an elementary school in Laos through Room to Read, a non-profit organization that provides educational support to children in developing countries. The funds from ticket sales will be combined with donations from concert attendees and donated to Room to Read's school program.

Maestro Fabio Luisi, the Artistic Director of PMF 2010 and also Chief Conductor of the Wiener Symphoniker, recognized the importance of Nomura's charitable program to provide educational support in developing countries and led the PMF academy members in a superb performance.

Nomura would like to thank all who supported this successful program especially the PMF Organizing Committee and PMF musicians.

Progress of construction of the elementary school in northern Laos will be updated on this website.
