Nomura Announces the Expansion of its Commercial and Residential Mortgage Business
NEW YORK, May 23, 2006 - Nomura Securities International, Inc. (NSI) announced today that in recognition of its expanding commercial and residential mortgage business, it was forming a new sub-division to focus on mortgage financing. Mr. Hideyuki Takahashi, the Chief Executive Officer of NSI, stated that the new unit, Mortgage Finance, will allow for "greater flexibility in decision-making, as well as additional resources." The new unit will be headed by Managing Director Donald J. MacKinnon.
NSI's other Fixed Income Businesses, including trading, sales, capital markets and research will continue to be led by Managing Director Yutaka Nakajima. Mr. Takahashi stated that the creation of a sub-division devoted to mortgage finance will "allow both Mr. MacKinnon and Mr. Nakajima to focus on their respective strengths and produce outstanding results."
