Nomura Securities International, Inc. Appoints Shigesuke Kashiwagi Chief Executive Officer
NEW YORK, July 5, 2006 - Nomura Securities International, Inc. (NSI), Nomura’s U.S. broker-dealer, announced that Mr. Shigesuke Kashiwagi has been appointed Chief Executive Officer effective July 5, 2006. Mr. Kashiwagi succeeds Mr. Hideyuki Takahashi, who will remain as Chairman of NSI and President and Chief Executive Officer of Nomura Holding America Inc., the North American holding company. Mr. Kashiwagi is based in New York City and reports to Mr. Takahashi and the Board of Directors of NSI.
Mr. Kashiwagi joined Nomura Holding America Inc. as Chief Operating Officer effective April 1, 2006. Prior to that, he was Senior Managing Director and Head of Global Fixed Income of Nomura Group.
