Nomura Securities International, Inc. Hires Surat Maheshwari as Head of Private Placements and U.S. Debt Capital MarketsNew York, July 17, 2008 – Nomura Securities International, Inc. (NSI) announced today that Surat Maheshwari has joined the firm's Fixed Income Division as Managing Director and Head of Private Placements and U.S. Debt Capital Markets. He is based in New York City and reports to Dean Chamberlain, Managing Director and Deputy-Head of Fixed Income at NSI. Mr. Maheshwari is responsible for originating, structuring and distributing private debt to US institutional investors as well as managing NSI's Debt Capital Market efforts in the U.S. "Surat is a very experienced and respected professional in the private placement and structured finance market, with a proven record of success in this product area. We are extremely excited he is leading our team. Surat also brings substantial experience in Latin America which is one of the focus areas of NSI in New York." said Chamberlain. Mr. Maheshwari joins NSI following four years at Dresdner Kleinwort, where he was Head of U.S. Syndicate and Private Placements. Prior to joining Dresdner, he served as a Principal Finance Officer at International Finance Corporation (World Bank). He was also previously Head of Private Placements at ING Financial Markets and began his post graduate finance career in Structured Finance and Private Placements at Citigroup in New York.
