Nomura appoints Stewart Callaghan to lead Asia Research | |||||||||||||||||||
Hong Kong, 5 June, 2006-Nomura announced today it has appointed Stewart Callaghan to take up the role of Head of Asia Research. Mr. Callaghan will be based at Nomura's Asia headquarters in Hong Kong. Mr. Callaghan was Regional Head of Company Research for Asia with BNP Paribas Peregrine in Hong Kong. He has a wealth of experience running equity research teams and has a track record of significantly improving his teams' research ranking. Prior to that he was Deputy Global Head of Research at ABN AMRO based in London. In his new role at Nomura, Mr. Callaghan will lead Asia Research Division and will play an important role in the company's strategy for Asia expansion. He will report to Akihito Watanabe, Head of Global Research. In announcing Mr. Callaghan's appointment, Mr. Watanabe commented, "This is a significant hire for Nomura as we seek to enhance our research activities in Asia, building on our leading franchise in Japan. We believe that Stewart, with his tremendous experience in the region, will enhance our Pan-Asian research capability."
