Hong Kong, 5 September, 2006-Nomura today announced the appointment of Inés Noé as Head of MTNs (Medium Term Notes) for the Asia-Pacific region. Ms Noé spent over 8 years at UBS and Swiss Bank Corporation, relocating from London to Hong Kong in 1998. She brings with her an extremely impressive Capital Markets track record from both Europe and Asia. Ms Noé has taken time out of the market to start a family since leaving her position as Head of Asian Debt Origination for UBS in Hong Kong. Ms Noé will report to Dermot Mayes, Head of Syndicate Asia-Pacific. In announcing Ms Noé’s appointment, Mayes said, "I am delighted to welcome Inés into the Asia Syndicate team. Her experience in the Capital Markets will bring valuable industry insight to the team. Inés' addition to the team will have a significantly impact to Nomura's regional capabilities and allow us to further develop our MTN presence in the region." Brian Lawson, International Head of Syndicate added, "The growth of our Asian franchise is a massive priority for Nomura. Inés has an excellent base of contacts within the region and her role offers her new challenges and the scope to extend her experience into the MTN and Syndicate arena. She is an important senior addition to our team and joins at a time of expansion in our arbitrage business within Asia. Nomura recently led its first public Kangaroo issue, a highly successful A$ 300m 3 year offering for Nordic Investment Bank, together with RBC and Westpac and plans further activity within the sector in the near future. This complements our existing flows in structured debt, where we are seeing rapid growth in our equity linked activities, HK$ and Sing$". | ||||||||||||||||||
