Nomura Appoints John Sisterson as Head of Asian Equity Finance

Hong Kong, 12 December 2006 - Nomura today announced the appointment of John Sisterson as Head of Asian Equity Finance. Mr. Sisterson joins Nomura from Credit Suisse and will be based in Nomura's Asia headquarters in Hong Kong.

Mr. Sisterson will be responsible for overseeing the Equity Finance desk in Asia. He will report to Tomoyuki Teraguchi, Head of Asia Equity Division and to Jonathan Cossey, Head of Equity Finance and Synthetic Prime Brokerage at Nomura International plc (London).

In announcing Mr. Sisterson's appointment, Mr. Teraguchi commented, “The Equity Finance and Synthetic Prime Brokerage business is one of Nomura’s key services to our clients in Asia, particularly, hedge fund clients. We are delighted that John has joined our team and are certain that with his expertise in the field of Equity Finance he will make a significant contribution in these focus areas within Asia."

Mr. Sisterson was previously a Director with Credit Suisse where he was responsible for running Equity Finance desk for nine years. Prior to that, he worked on the Equity Finance desk at Morgan Stanley in both London and Hong Kong.
