Nomura Hires Rachel Tsang as Head of Oil and Gas Research

Hong Kong, March 5, 2007 – Nomura today announced the appointment of Rachel Tsang as Head of Oil and Gas Research. Ms Tsang will be based at Nomura's Asia headquarters in Hong Kong, and will be initiating coverage on the Chinese Oil majors.

Ms Tsang will report to Stewart Callaghan, Head of Asia Research Division. In announcing Ms Tsang's appointment, Mr. Callaghan commented "We are pleased to have Rachel joining us in Asia Research Division. She has over 12 years of experience in the research field. With Rachel's appointment, we now have a very strong Asia energy complex team. I am confident that we will progressively roll out more coverage and put out some cross sector thematic research to meet our clients' needs".

Prior to joining Nomura, Ms Tsang was with Daiwa Securities where she primarily covered the Oil and Gas Sector. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Quantitative Analysis from City University of Hong Kong and an MBA in Finance from the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.
