Nomura Appoints Ellen Tseng as Head of Taiwan Research

Taipei/Hong Kong, July 9, 2007 – Nomura today announced that Ellen Tseng has joined the firm as Head of Taiwan Research. Reporting to Head of Asia Research Stewart Callaghan, Ms Tseng will lead the Taiwan team in building up its research coverage capabilities in the local Taiwanese market.

Prior to Nomura, Ms Tseng spent 6 years at Morgan Stanley where she was Executive Director of Equity Research covering Asia PC System & Downstream companies. Before joining Morgan Stanley, Ellen worked at ABN AMRO as research analyst and before that, she held sales engineering positions in the PC industry.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Callaghan said, "Ellen is a top rated analyst who has deep and broad penetration and high votes with clients in Asia, US and Europe, as well as exceptional corporate relationships and industry contacts.
