Nomura Appoints D.K. Shin as Head of Global Markets, Korea

Hong Kong, August 8, 2007 – Nomura today announced the appointment of D.K. Shin as Head of Global Markets, Korea, a new position where he will be responsible for business expansion in the Korean market. Mr. Shin will be based in Hong Kong and will report to Kenji Tsuge, Head of Fixed Income Division – Asia Pacific and to Tomoyuki Teraguchi, Head of Asia Equity Division.

Mr. Shin joins Nomura from Goldman Sachs, where he was Managing Director and Head of Korea IBD/Financing Group for 2.5 years based in Hong Kong. Prior to that, he was MD and Head of Capital Markets, Korea with Deutsche Bank based in Hong Kong, where he had been working for 24 years (including Bankers Trust Seoul and New York). Mr. Shin has an MBA in Finance from the Korea University.
