Nomura Announces Senior Equities Appointments in Asia-Pacific

Hong Kong, December 20, 2011 – Nomura, the global investment bank, has today announced a series of senior appointments across its Asia-Pacific Equities franchise. Jean El Khoury has been appointed as Head of Equity Trading, Asia ex-Japan; Christopher Carter joins Nomura as Head of Equity Derivatives, Japan; Shinichiro Eguchi has been appointed Head of Execution Services Trading, Japan; Nick Heather has been appointed Head of Execution Services Trading, Asia ex-Japan and Jenny Chiam has been appointed as Head of Equities, South East Asia.

Mr. El Khoury is responsible for the management of trading and risk across all equity products, Asia ex-Japan. He reports to Paul Dolan and John Adair, Joint Heads of Equities, Asia-Pacific and Christian Dalban, Global Head of Equity Trading. Additionally, Jean will have pan regional responsibilities as Head of Trading for Equity Derivatives and Convertibles, Asia-Pacific. Jean joined Nomura in January 2011 as Head of Equity Derivatives Trading, Asia-Pacific and has more than 20 years of industry experience, holding key positions at a number of firms across Europe, US and Asia.

Mr. Carter will oversee sales, trading, and structuring for Equity Derivatives products in Japan, reporting to Norikazu Akedo, Head of Equities, Japan. Chris joins Nomura as a Managing Director from Renaissance Capital, where he was Global Head of Equity Derivatives. Previously, Chris was with CSFB for nine years across their Tokyo, Hong Kong, and London offices, most recently as Global Head of Equity Derivatives and has accrued nearly 20 years of industry experience.

Mr. Eguchi has been appointed Head of Execution Services Trading, Japan, in addition to his current role as Head of Cash Trading, Japan. Shinichiro will now have oversight of the Cash, International Equity, Programs, and Delta One trading businesses, and will report to Norikazu Akedo, Head of Equities, Japan.

Mr. Heather, as Head of Execution Services Trading, Asia ex-Japan, will report to Mr. El Khoury. Nick joined the firm in June 1997 in EMEA, before transferring to Tokyo and more recently Hong Kong. Nick has held a variety of senior Equity trading roles during this period, and most recently headed Program Trading, Asia Pacific for which he will retain his responsibility.

Spearheading the growth of Nomura's South East Asian Equities franchise, Ms. Chiam will report to Paul Dolan and John Adair, Joint Heads of Equities, Asia-Pacific. Jenny joined Nomura in April 2007 and was named Head of Equities Sales, Singapore in 2008. Nomura is currently ranked #1 in Singapore and #3 in Malaysia by Institutional Investor's All-Asia Equity Research survey. Prior to joining Nomura, Jenny worked for Credit Suisse and has specialized in Asian Equities in Australia, New York and Singapore for over 25 years.
