Nomura Code Wins Adviser of the Year in New Energy Awards

London, February 26, 2009 – Nomura Code, Europe's leading Healthcare and Cleantech investment banking team, has been named 'Adviser of the Year' in The Rosenblatt New Energy Awards for 2009.

Nomura Code has been recognised by the Rosenblatt New Energy Awards as the most active Cleantech advisor in the UK, representing six listed companies and raising €250m in eight public market transactions since 2005. The judging panel assessed the brokers and advisers that floated the most new energy ventures on the market. They also took into consideration the operational progress of the companies and their share price performance.

Juliet Thompson, Managing Director and founding partner at Nomura Code, said "We are delighted to have won this accolade from The Rosenblatt Awards. Nomura Code has unparalleled experience in the sector and we pride ourselves on our client orientated approach to banking. The markets have been challenging over the past year and our award is valuable recognition that we are experts in our field and hold our clients' interests above our own."

Nomura Code was nominated alongside KPMG and Morgan Stanley. Additionally, Nomura was singled out due to its ecologically focused Corporate Social Responsibility policy, which outlines targets for reducing energy usage/emissions and waste, and for its efforts in promoting green purchasing.

Nomura Code has been active in the public equity markets during the past year, raising €9 million for Ceramic Fuel Cells in April 2008 and a further €11 million via a secondary placing for PuriCore in August of the same year as well as completing deals in the private equity markets.

Nomura Code is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nomura, the pre-eminent Asia-based investment bank.
