Nomura Establishes Office in Russia

Tokyo, March 13, 2007 – Nomura Holdings, Inc. today announced it has opened an office in Moscow, Russia. Nomura (CIS) Ltd is the latest addition to Nomura's global network and now expands its reach in the EMEA region to 14 offices in 13 countries.

Nomura will provide a full range of investment banking products and services to its clients in Russia, and its unique positioning as both the leading Asian investment bank and one of the largest global investment banks will provide Russian businesses with unparalleled access to the Asian markets, as well as enabling them to leverage Nomura's strong distribution networks, both in Asia and Europe.

Maxim Seltzer has been appointed General Director for Nomura (CIS) Ltd. He joined Nomura in June 2006 from Daiwa Securities. In his role as Head of Russia and the CIS within Nomura's investment banking division, Mr Seltzer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Nomura's business activity in the region. Mr Seltzer said: "Nomura has been active in the region for some time, and we have already been involved in several landmark transactions. We have a very healthy pipeline and we intend to bring innovative products and services to Russian businesses. Nomura fully intends to be a key player in the further development of the Russian and CIS financial markets." Mr Seltzer continued to say that “Nomura will commence operations with a team of five investment bankers based in Moscow, and they will be supported by a network of experts strategically located in the leading financial centers around the globe."
