Nomura wins Serbian pharma privatisation mandate

Nomura International plc ("Nomura") announces today that The Privatisation Agency of the Republic of Serbia ("Privatisation Agency") has selected Nomura to act as the financial adviser on the privatisation of four Pharmaceutical and Household Products companies.

Nomura is mandated to seek strategic investors for the following four companies: Zorka Pharma, Zdravlje, Merima and Nevena.

Commenting on Nomura's success in winning the mandates, John-Paul Warszewski, the Head of Central and Eastern European Corporate Finance at Nomura said:

"We are very pleased to have beaten off some stiff competition to win these mandates. Nomura has been a long-term player in the markets of Central and Eastern Europe across all investment banking products. The Company produces a wide array of products such as medical drugs, infusion solutions, dialysis machines, syringes, cosmetic products, pharmaceutical raw materials, veterinary drugs etc. It holds 16% of the domestic market.


Merima
Merima chemical (household consumables) company was founded in 1976, in Krusevac, 150 kilometres south-west of Belgrade. Merima produces an assortment of household cleaners, cosmetic products, and personal hygiene products. It holds 29% of the domestic market.


Nevena
Nevena chemical (household consumables) company was established in 1953 in the town of Leskovac, about 300 kilometres Southeast of Belgrade. The Company manufactures cosmetics products, personal hygiene products and household cleaners. It holds 6% of the domestic market.
