Nomura Continues To Build Equity Derivatives Team


Nomura announced today that it is continuing its drive to build its Equity Derivatives team, as it confirmed a further 24 people appointed to the business in the past four months. The appointments include four new directors: Alain Chanezon, Florian Hillen, Garry Topp and Shilpa Amin.

Mr Chanezon joins from Société Générale where he had senior trading responsibilities over exotic products. In his new role at Nomura, he will focus on developing the exotics business using his seven years of trading experience plus his four years in systems development. Mr Hillen joins from ABN Amro where he headed up flow trading for their equity derivatives group. He will build Nomura's market-making capabilities using his six years experience in trading single stocks plus his two years in systems development.

Both Mr Chanezon and Mr Hillen will report to Marco Mocquard, Head of Trading.

Mr Topp has 15 years of experience in selling investment products and joins from SRI Capital Advisors. Prior to that, he was at Henderson Global Investors where he was responsible for developing and distributing products in retail and institutional markets. In his new role, he will focus on fund sales and will report to Joachim Willnow, Head of Equity Derivatives.

Ms Amin joins from Merrill Lynch where she was legal counsel to both product and platform development. In her new role at Nomura, she will focus on platform development using her 12 years legal experience. She will report to Michael Fullalove, Head of Product Development.
