Nomura Appoints Alexis Lasser Head of Private Capital Markets, Americas

New York, July 1, 2010 – Nomura Securities North America, LLC today announced Alexis Lasser has joined as Managing Director and Head of Private Capital Markets for the Americas. Lasser will be responsible for private placements across the capital structure, from debt through equity, reporting to Glenn H. Schiffman, Head of Investment Banking for the Americas, who is based in New York, and globally to Philippe Dufournier, Head of Global Finance, who is based in London.

Nomura is committed to strategically broadening its US franchise into new markets and has started a significant hiring program due for completion by year-end.

"Her impressive multi-sector, cross-border deal experience will help her to execute Nomura's client-driven, solutions-focused strategy."

Prior to joining Nomura, Alexis was Head of the Illiquid and Private Placements Group at Standard Chartered Bank where she worked across sectors including financial institutions, healthcare, industrial, natural resources and power. Previously, she worked for 12 years in Private Capital Markets at Lehman Brothers, most recently as the Head of the Private Capital Markets Group.

Lasser graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Economics from Barnard College, Columbia University, and received her Master of Business Administration from Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University.
