![]() Nomura Appoints Co-Heads of Leveraged Finance for the AmericasNew York, July 19, 2010 – Nomura Securities North America LLC, today announces the appointment of Julie Persily and Steven Seltzer as managing directors and Co-Heads of Nomura's Leveraged Finance Group in New York. Nomura is committed to strategically broadening its US Investment Banking client coverage and to achieve this has started a significant hiring program due for completion by year-end. Persily's appointment is subject to receipt of required registrations and licenses. Persily and Seltzer will be jointly responsible for marketing, originating and delivering Leveraged Finance solutions to Nomura's growing number of clients in the Americas. Julie Persily joins Nomura from Citigroup where she was previously co-head of leveraged finance and head of acquisition finance. Persily's clients included some of the largest private equity firms and Fortune 500 companies. She has deep knowledge of leveraged finance origination, with particular emphasis on financial sponsors, and has spent valuable time at Bankers Trust and Drexel Burnham Lambert. Steven Seltzer joins Nomura from North Sea Partners where he marketed specialist financial advisory services to financial sponsors and high yield investors, and previously at Morgan Stanley where he was a managing director, global head of the high yield syndicate and co-chair of the leveraged finance commitment committee. Earlier in his career, Seltzer worked at Credit Suisse First Boston and before that at Goldman Sachs. Persily and Seltzer will work closely with Luca Tassan and Patrice Maffre, Co-Heads of Leveraged Finance in EMEA as well as Graham Conran, Head of Leveraged Finance in Asia ex-Japan strengthening Nomura's Global Leveraged Finance team capability.
