Nomura Achieves No. 1 in Institutional Investor's China Research Poll

Hong Kong, July 13, 2010 – Nomura, the global investment bank, announced today that it has achieved number one in the inaugural Institutional Investor 2010 All-China Research Team ranking. As part of the top result, Nomura gained 14 ranked analyst positions.

Nomura achieved seven top-three analyst positions in the 2010 survey, comprising:

  • Two #1 ranked analysts: Consumer Discretionary, Industrials
  • Four #2 ranked analysts: Conglomerates, Economics, Energy, Public Utilities
  • One #3 ranked analyst: Infrastructure & Transportation

An additional seven analysts were ranked runner-up: Consumer Non-discretionary (two), Financials (two), Health Care, Public Utilities and Real Estate.

Earlier this year, Nomura ranked second in Institutional Investor's All-Asia and All-Europe Research Team surveys, both up from eighth the previous year. The firm also regained the top spot in Japan, ranking first in the All-Japan Research Team survey. Nomura has recently announced a number of key hires to its U.S. equity research team to bolster the firm's global research capabilities.
