Nomura Appoint Russell Watson as Global Head of Product Control

London, August 3, 2009 – Nomura International plc ("Nomura"), the preeminent Asia-based investment bank, today announced the appointment of Russell Watson as global head of product control.

Mr. Watson joins Nomura from Goldman Sachs. He is a highly respected figure in the industry with more than 15 years experience. Based in London, Mr. Watson will work widely across the Nomura Finance Function leading a team of more than 200 people.

Having spent the past nine years in a range of product control roles at Goldman Sachs, most recently as a Managing Director in Finance, where he was Co-Head of European Product Control and Global Head of Macro ex-Commodities Product Control, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role.

Mr. Watson will start in August and will report to Mr Fujitani, global deputy chief financial officer based in Tokyo and Mr Lewis, chief financial officer for Europe, Middle East and Africa, based in London.
