Nomura Officially Opens EMEA Headquarters, One Angel Lane, London

London, April 4 2011 – The Chancellor Rt Hon George Osborne officially opens the new EMEA headquarters of Nomura, the global investment bank, today at One Angel Lane, London. The bank has signed a 20 year lease and relocated 3,500 employees to the impressive building overlooking the Thames, marking Nomura's commitment to the City of London.

John Phizackerley, Senior Managing Director, and chairman of the European Executive Committee for Nomura commented, "The opening of One Angel Lane is a significant milestone in Nomura's global transformation. The opening of this building is testament to the growing scale and importance of our business operations in Europe".

As part of the opening ceremony, Nomura will also present a cheque for £1 million to UK charity partner Teenage Cancer Trust. The partnership had an original fundraising target of £100,000. This money was raised through staff fundraising efforts and will be instrumental in helping build a new state of the art day treatment centre for young people with cancer at University College Hospital, London.

One Angel Lane is the largest single occupancy fit-out in the UK, and spans 546,000 square feet over 11 floors, with space for over 1800 traders on two state of the art trading floors. The building boasts modern, technologically advanced facilities and includes staff gymnasium, medical centre, broadcast studio, 220 seat auditorium, multi-faith facility and a large staff restaurant with a 20,000 square feet river side terrace, the largest roof terrace in the City of London.
