Nomura Hires Munish Varma as Global Head of Structured Lending and Special Situations

London, October 18, 2011 – Nomura, the global investment bank, announces today that it has hired Munish Varma as Global Head of Structured Lending and Special Situations. Based in London, he will report to Georges Assi, Global Head of Credit Products & Co-Head of Fixed Income EMEA, and Kieran Higgins, Co-Head of Fixed Income EMEA.

Munish and his group will focus on providing tailored financial solutions at all levels of the capital structure to our clients in both the public and private sector.

Munish joins from Deutsche Bank, where he had worked since 1999. Most recently, he was Head of its Global Markets business in India, and his career also included a variety of roles in credit trading and structuring. He began his career at Bankers Trust in 1997, working as a market maker for Asian currencies.

Munish graduated from Cornell University with an MBA in 1997.
