Tokyo, June 15, 2022 - Nomura Securities Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Nomura Holdings, Inc., today announced that it has won the inaugural 2021 Google Cloud¹ Customer Award in the financial services category, recognizing the firm’s use of Google Cloud’s platform to offer innovative services to its clients. Nomura is the only company from Japan to be awarded.

The Google Cloud Customer Awards recognize companies from around the globe with the most innovative, technically advanced and transformative cloud deployments built on Google Cloud’s platform.

Nomura was awarded for its FINTOS smartphone app launched in February 2021 to provide investment information to individual investors in Japan. The award recognized Nomura for developing the app on the cloud in compliance with information security governance as a financial services firm and for creating a system that takes into consideration future connectivity with other services such as BigQuery and Apigee².
