This Policy describes how we, collect, use, and disclose Personal Information through (i) our Corporate Group Websites, (ii) visits to our offices, (iii) attendance or registration for our in-person or virtual events, (iv) an existing or contemplated business relationship with our clients (if no other policy is provided), and (v) other online and offline business interactions you have with us in connection with services described on www.nomuraassetmanagement.com (collectively, the "Services"). This Policy does not apply to Nomura employees (current employees or prospective employees) or individual contractors in the Americas, who should instead review the "Employee, Job Applicant, and Contractor Privacy Policy" that may be found on Nomura Group Privacy Policy and Nomura employees in other regions should review the privacy disclosures they received as part of their onboarding or contact HR to obtain a copy.

If you, or an organization you represent, are provided with a separate privacy policy in connection with an event or with the business or professional relationship with us, such policy will control in the event of conflict with this Policy.

By using our Services, you are agreeing to the terms of this Policy.

"Personal Information" is information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with a particular individual. This section describes how we may use the categories of Personal Information detailed in the "Collection and Disclosure of Personal Information" section below. The details of our collection and disclosure of Personal Information are found in the next sections.

We use Sensitive Personal Information (please see the Sensitive Personal Information and Characteristics of Protected Classifications definition in the next section) for purposes of performing services for our business, providing products or services as requested by you, ensuring security and integrity, countering malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal actions, servicing accounts, providing customer service, verifying client information, processing payments, providing financing, activities relating to quality and safety control or product improvement, and other collection and processing that is not for the purposes of inferring characteristics about an individual.  We do not use Sensitive Personal Information beyond these purposes.

Unless we request it, we ask that you not send us, and you not disclose, any sensitive Personal Information (e.g., information related to racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religion or other beliefs, health, biometrics or genetic characteristics, criminal background, or trade union membership) on or through the Services or otherwise to us.

Pursuant to the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, the "CCPA"), we are providing the following additional details regarding the Personal Information that we collect, use, and disclose about California residents. Under the CCPA, "Personal Information" is information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with a particular California resident or household.  

We do not "sell" or "share" your Personal Information, including your Sensitive Personal Information, as defined under the CCPA. We have not engaged in such activities in the 12 months preceding the date this Policy was last updated. Without limiting the foregoing, we do not "sell" or "share" the Personal Information, including the Sensitive Personal Information, of minors under 16 years of age.

We retain Personal Information for as long as needed or permitted in light of the purpose(s) for which it was collected unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by applicable law. The criteria used to determine our retention periods include:
 

• The length of time we have an ongoing relationship with you and provide services to you (for example, for as long as you have an account with us or keep using our services) and the length of time thereafter during which we may have a legitimate need to reference your Personal Information to address issues that may arise;
• Whether there is a legal obligation to which we are subject (for example, certain laws require us to keep records of your transactions for a certain period of time before we can delete them); or
• Whether retention is advisable in light of our legal position (such as in regard to applicable statutes of limitations, litigation or regulatory investigations).

2. You may request to correct inaccuracies in your Personal Information.
3. You may request to have your Personal Information deleted.
4. You may request to receive the specific pieces of your Personal Information, including a copy of the Personal Information you provided to us in a portable format.

You have the right to be free from unlawful discrimination for exercising your rights under the CCPA.

We will verify and respond to your request consistent with applicable law, taking into account the type and sensitivity of the Personal Information subject to the request. We may need to request additional Personal Information from you, such as mailing address, telephone number and/or email address, in order to verify your identity and protect against fraudulent requests. If you maintain a password-protected account with us, we may verify your identity through our existing authentication practices for your account and require you to re-authenticate yourself before disclosing or deleting your Personal Information. If you make a deletion request, we may ask you to verify your request before we delete your Personal Information.

California law also gives residents of California the right, under certain circumstances, to request information from us regarding the manner in which we share certain categories of Personal Information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To request such information, please contact us using the contact information provided in the "Questions and Comments" section, below.

If an agent would like to make a request on your behalf as permitted by applicable law, the agent may use the submission methods noted in the section entitled "Individual Rights and Requests." As part of our verification process, we may request that the agent provide, as applicable, proof concerning their status as an authorized agent. In addition, we may require that you verify your identity as described in the section entitled "Individual Rights and Requests" or confirm that you provided the agent permission to submit the request.

Where we maintain or use de-identified information, we will continue to maintain and use the de-identified information only in a de-identified fashion and will not attempt to re-identify the information.

We seek to use reasonable organizational, technical, and administrative measures to protect Personal Information within our organization. Unfortunately, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please immediately notify us in accordance with the "Questions or Comments" section below.
