Nomura Expands its Corporate Client Coverage Platform with Senior Appointment in Korea

Hong Kong/Seoul, May 16, 2012 – Nomura, the global investment bank, today announced the appointment of Wonseok Chae to its Corporate Solutions & Financing Group in Asia ex-Japan, as it further expands its existing corporate client coverage platform in the region.

Nomura's Corporate Solutions & Financing Group (CSFG) is an integrated platform combining the firm's corporate coverage resources across corporate sales, risk solutions and private financing to provide corporate clients in Asia ex-Japan with structured solutions for their varied financing requirements, as well as event-driven and tactical risk management strategies. Since November 2011, the CSFG platform has scaled up to a team of 30 people covering corporate clients across Asia ex-Japan under the new leadership of Daniel Mamadou, Head of the CSFG group.

Mr Chae will join Nomura as Head of Corporate Sales & Financing, Korea and will report to Daniel Mamadou. Wonseok joins from Goldman Sachs where he was head of Corporate Sales for Korea and prior to that, Deutsche Bank where he was head of the Corporate Coverage group. He will be based in Seoul.

"Wonseok brings a wealth of experience to this role with over 20 years of experience in the Korean markets. His hire completes the build-out of our CSFG team; Korea is a key area of focus in our coverage strategy and we will ensure that our clients benefit from one of the most comprehensive financing and risk management solution offerings in the region," said Mr Mamadou.

In his role, Chae will also report to Djamal Attamimi and Chris Chan, Managing Director, Head of the Financing Group, Asia ex-Japan and Managing Director, Head of Corporate Solutions, Asia ex-Japan respectively. Both Mr. Attamimi and Mr. Chan are based in Singapore and joined Nomura in November 2011.
