15,000 Employees in Japan Take D&I Certification Exam
Nomura Holdings, Inc. today announced that all of its over 15,000 employees in Japan have received the Level 3 D&I Kentei certification.
The first initiative of its kind in Japan, the D&I Kentei offers a systematic and comprehensive curriculum aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the organization and encouraging individuals to take the lead.
DEI is an essential component of Nomura's key management strategy. The certification is part of the firm's ongoing commitment to creating an environment where diverse talent can maximize their strengths and thrive.
Participants were able to take the certification exam in either Japanese or English, and 90 percent of them said it gave them new insights and changed their mindset around DEI.
In April 2024, Nomura announced its Group Purpose: "We aspire to create a better world by harnessing the power of financial markets".
To put this into action, it is vital to continue providing high added value to meet the needs of clients amid dramatic changes in the market environment. It is also important to have an inclusive workplace where people can be authentic, different perspectives and ideas are respected, and innovative ideas are cultivated.
Through its DEI initiatives, Nomura will continue to create inclusive spaces for all employees to achieve their full potential.
